Description
Publisher’s note:
Choral voices emerge from the rustling sounds of nature, first highlighting upper and then the lower voices of the choir. The mood is initially subdued and tentative, composer Seán Doherty breathing more and more life into the score with vivid sonic colours and intricate rhythmic layering of the parts. The power and emotion of the piece reaches its peak only to be interrupted by a solo alto voice which heralds the return of the hushed strains of the opening, the bright choral timbres featured earlier now receding into nature. An extraordinary piece that is perfect for competitions and festivals or as a show-stopper within a concert programme.
